The First Look

In a poor country ruined by a recent war and ruled by a dictatorship, a film school was established which became, unintentionally, a space of freedom. That dream lasted only fifteen years but it changed the history of Spanish cinema forever. Today we have the undergraduate film work of all its students. The first frames shot by those who would mark our lives as movie viewers (Bardem, Berlanga, Saura, Erice, Patino, Summers, Olea, Mercero, Borau...) helps us understand the greatness of their dreams and bears witness to the process of modernization experienced by a country devastated by many traumas.
