Scent of Linden

Stefan arrives in Memphis with a fresh new green card. There, he moves in with Dima and Georgi, whose apartment is a hotel for immigrants. Enter the women: Dima, the housewife who’s had enough, Emilia, blindly in love with her husband, and Vyara, soon to meddle in everyone’s business. The men, Georgi, Pavel, and Velko, are scheming to build a moonshine distillery. They sway Stefan to stay in town, although Chicago is a distant dream he hopes to reach. And as life would have it, Stefan meets Rada, a sharp-witted woman by whom he’s intrigued - although this couldn’t possibly be worse timing. And, that’s when Stefan’s life starts to get really, really interesting. (Cinequest Festival)
