This educational documentary analyzes film adaptations of Poe's stories using examples from the works of Alexandre Astruc, Éric Rohmer (who poses as an English director) and Jean Epstein, as well as from Godard's film Vivre sa vie (1962). Rohmer formulates the rather radical idea that Poe considered poetry to be a superior form of logic and thus approached prose as a poetic work. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
