New Pigs on the Block

When three pigs move into a neighbourhood in the Belgian city of Gent to help the community prevent food waste, both the animals and the local residents are as happy as pigs in proverbial shit. As the months pass, however, disturbances from the environment turn the pigs against each other and destroy their trust in humans. Documenting this microcosmos from the pigs’ point of view, filmmaker Jimmy Kets has created a charming and empathetic nature film which challenges our notions about humane treatment of animals.
