This mocking criticism of public life and the media focuses on a TV series. The protagonist of the film, depicting the battles fought for Hungarian castles during the Ottoman occupation, is chosen to be the amateur Prohászka Feri, a worker in the beer-factory. Knight Gyula sets the hearts of Hungarian ladies on fire, and this is especially objected to by Feri's cuckooed landlord, Gál. The series is met with explosive success, feeding Hungarian national pride, so much so that the sweeping anti-Turkish campaign prompts general manager Bodó to intervene. Knight Gyula must be executed for charges of treason! - that is the verdict. But the audience does not accept the humiliating ending and cries for a continuation of the series. In the meantime, Feri has suffered an accident, and is returned to the screen, encased in plaster-bandage, in a new series about astronauts. (texte officiel du distributeur)
