The Shape of the World and the Creation

From the root of the earth a sound is born, linked to man. Those are the voices that sing for the souls in purgatory. Every year the singers of Arbejales, in Gran Canaria, fulfill a ritual cycle, and for them, singing is a sacred duty. Saint Isidore the Laborer is invoked in order to reveal the purpose of this hundred-year-old tradition. (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival)
