anglais This is an excellent feminist film of the 1990s. Where are the times when the main characters were active lovers, students, and daughters? Winona became an icon of the youth and every emancipated young woman wished to have her face. In this story, she plays 26-year-old Finn, who is taking the summer off from her boyfriend to finish her thesis. Meanwhile, she learns the life stories of the most important women in her family and at the end of it all, she becomes part of a new quilt. There is a special nostalgia associated not only with generational stories nicely layered throughout the century. Nowadays, the electric typewriter and tapes with which our college girl is surrounded are also nostalgic. Beyond that, her summer affair is so palpably sexy that I would have no issues embracing the screen. ()

anglais At first glance it looks like a very feminine film, and it is very feminine - after all the main characters are women, but on the other hand, for example Winona's point of view deals with problems that even a man can have. The uncertainty of what one actually expects. I liked the musings. But the clear answer at the end? Not so much. ()
