C'était probablement le dernier concert de ce qui semble maintenant être une époque révolue, la grande fête avant le shutdown mondial : Le 15 mars 2020, le chanteur de Rammstein, Till Lindemann, et le multi-instrumentiste et producteur suédois Peter Tägtgren sont montés sur la scène de la VTB Arena de Moscou avec leur projet Lindemann pour donner deux concerts triomphants, qu'une excellente équipe autour du cinéaste Serghey Grey a maintenant condensés dans un film de concert épique. Depuis que Till Lindemann et Peter Tägtgren ont convenu en novembre 2020 de ne pas poursuivre Lindemann ensemble et de se consacrer à d'autres projets, "Live in Moscow" est un mémorial à la combinaison spéciale de deux musiciens exceptionnels qui, en l'espace de seulement deux albums, ont créé leur propre système de coordonnées musicales unique. I was more interested in this in the context of how much my socks were knocked back then by the live Rammstein: Paris. Lindemann doesn't have as strong an audio-visual concept as Till's alma mater, but it's more of a fun project where you can hear Tägtgren's hand almost exclusively in the composition, especially his band Pain. That's not a bad thing in itself, but this music can’t defend 90 minutes of running time. The show itself is also more of a romp than the sophisticated and over-realized antics of Rammstein. And then I have a moral problem with it, too, where Lindemann is a project that benefits greatly from pushing the edges of certain taboos in the discussion of where art ends and kinky pornography begins, yet chooses a bigoted environment for live viewing where they have to censor the projections until virtually nothing remains or they'll go to jail. What then plays into the live action is my personal affinity for Till Lindemann, with whom I find it incredibly entertaining just to watch how he stands.
