De 1918 à l'an 2000, les péripéties d'une famille et notamment de la dernière descendante, Sarah, enfant gâtée puis jeune femme malheureuse en amour. La vie de celle-ci connaît un tournant le jour où sa route croise celle de Simon, qui travaille dans la publicité. It cannot be denied that the film has charm, poetics, and humor. The script, direction, and cast are of a very high standard. The film is influenced by the French New Wave and modernism in terms of breaking societal conventions. Claude Lelouch, in a likable manner, undermines not only relationships between men and women but also the film world itself. His protagonist began his career in film as a producer of pornography, moved on to advertising, and ended up as a successful creator of acclaimed feature films. And Now My Love is characterized by dynamic editing and a certain fragmentation of images, while its drawbacks include a short runtime that tries to capture the lives of three generations. There are significant time jumps in the first half of the film, and some of the interesting characters appear in the story only briefly. Overall impression: 85%.
