J.M.R. Luna

Biographie

J.M.R. LUNA is a producer/director based in Los Angeles. He is also the founder of Lunatic Films, a development/production company and, with George Voskericyan, runs American Film Productions, a financing/production company.

Originally hailing from Madrid, Spain, Juan was educated at some of the most prestigious film institutions in Europe. He graduated with honors from the University of Madrid, was awarded with an Erasmus scholarship for graduate school in Denmark, and earned his Masters in Los Angeles, where he was also nominated by the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) for his work as a cinematographer.

More recently, Juan directed and produced TELL, an action comedy starring Milo Ventimiglia, Katie Sackhoff, and Jason Lee, which was theatrically released in U.S.A. by MGM/Orion. In 2014, he also produced HELICOPTER MOM, starring Nia Vardalos and Mark Boone, Jr., that was released in Spring 2015 by E One/Phase4; ECHOES OF WAR, starring James Badge Dale and William Forsyth, also theatrically released in Summer 2015; and GRASS STAINS, starring Tye Sheridan and Annabeth Gish.

Juan's work has taken him around the world: Europe, Japan, the North Pole, Africa and now Los Angeles, where he has done more than 25 short films, and 6 features. He continues to develop material under his Lunatic Films banner, and produce films under American Film Productions.
