Biographie

Brandon Trost is a fourth-generation filmmaker raised on movie sets. He started his career as a very young assistant to his father, Ron Trost, a special-effects craftsman. After years of learning the intricacies of filmmaking and developing an appreciation for the look of film and the art of cinematography, he enrolled in the Los Angeles Film School. There, he developed a personal style and aesthetic under the tutelage of such Academy Award-winning/nominated cinematographers as William Fraker, Ralf Bode and John Alonzo. Trost quickly gained extensive experience shooting in all formats.

He has more than 25 feature-film credits including Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's Crank: High Voltage and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Rob Zombie's Halloween II and The Lords of Salem, SNL feature film MacGruber, Adam Sandler's That's My Boy and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's This Is the End. He recently completed principal photography on Neighbors, for director Nicholas Stoller. In addition to his feature-film work, Trost has lensed dozens of music videos and more than 90 short films.
