Biographie

He’s a Bolivian filmmaker. His debut work Utama premiered in the Sundance Festival 2022, where he got the Grand Jury Award in the World Dramatic Competition category. He also won four awards at the Malaga Film Festival, including best Ibero-American film, three awards at the Guadalajara Festival and two awards at the Transylvania Festival. In addition to these awards, the film won more than forty awards and participated in more than 80 International Festivals. It was nominated as best Ibero-American film at the Goya Awards in 2023 and got two awards and five nominations at the Latin Awards 2023. He began his artistic career in still photography and, attracted by the stories that can be told through the making of images, he started to work in scriptwriting and film directing. He studied Social Communication and did a specific master’s degree in Scriptwriting by TheMediaPro Studio and the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).
