Danielle Arbid

Danielle Arbid has directed feature-length documentaries including Seule avec la guerre (2001), with which she won the Silver Leopard in the video category at Locarno and Aux frontières (2002). Her first two fictional films, Dans les champs de bataille (In the Battlefields, 2004) and Un homme perdu (A Lost Man, 2007), were selected for the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Festival de Cannes. The third, Peur de rien, screened at Toronto Festival and won the Prix de L’Académie Lumière bestowed by the foreign press in France in 2016. Passion simple is part of the official selection of films for the Festival de Cannes 2020, finally cancelled due to covid-19.
