Biographie
Award-winning Japanese filmmaker based in New York. His films have been screened at International Film Festivals such as Berlin, Venice, Locarno, Busan, Hong Kong, same at the MoMA Documentary Fortnight, among others. He is known for his observational method and for strictly prohibits himself from doing pre-shoot research in order to minimize preconceptions and to make unexpected discoveries while filming.
