Juan Manuel Chumilla

Filmmaker, writer and multidisciplinary artist trained at Rome’s CSC. Discovered by Elías Querejeta, he has combined his career as a director and producer with other artistic forms of expression such as literature, photography or design. His films are constantly poised between fiction and documentary in a balance that defines his singular style. His works include the feature films El infierno prometido (1993-2013), which showed as part of the Special Screenings programme at the 58th Valladolid Festival), The Unmaking of (Special Mention at Meeting Point in 2010), Desnudos desnudos (2003) and El agua de la vida (2008).
