Brad Anderson

Brad Anderson is a versatile writer/director who came out of the DIY “indie film” scene of the mid-90’s after his first feature, the comedy The Darien Gap (shot on 16mm and Super 8mm and financed on credit cards), premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Since then he has directed numerous films, each one a testament to his various interests and fascinations. His eclectic and acclaimed body of work spans various genres such as horror (Session 9), romcom (Next Stop Wonderland), political drama (Beirut) and thriller (The Call). Five of his films have premiered at Sundance, including Happy Accidents, The Machinist and Transsiberian, which he also wrote. He has collaborated with many of the best actors of our time including Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Ben Kingsley, Woody Harrelson, Peter Mullan, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Halle Berry, and Jon Hamm. He has directed dozens of TV episodes including The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Killing, Man in The High Castle and Apple’s sci-fi saga Invasion - as well as several pilots, including DC’s Titans, Zoo and Clickbait - which was the #1 scripted drama on Netflix.
