Nicholas Hytner was born in Manchester, England, and studied at Cambridge. He has directed numerous stage productions and collaborated with Alan Bennett on the features THE MADNESS OF KING GEORGE (BAFTA Award and Evening Standard Award for Best British Film), THE HISTORY OF BOYS, and THE LADY IN THE VAN.
