Biographie

Pilar Palomero has written and directed the short films Sonrisas (2005), Niño Balcón (2009), Chan Chan (2012), Noć (2015) and La noche de todas las cosas (2016). She has also put her name to the medium-length Zimsko Sunce (2017) and the creative documentary Horta (2017). In 2013 she was one of the 16 filmmakers selected by the Hungarian director Béla Tarr to participate in his collaborative project, Film Factory, in Sarajevo. She has also worked as a script writer for television and is co-screenwriter of the feature film Chaco (Diego Mondaca, 2020), premiered at Rotterdam Festival. Las niñas, her first feature, was presented in Generation Kplus at Berlin Festival and won the Golden Biznaga for Best Film at Malaga Festival.
