Biographie
Alireza Khatami worked in the film and advertising industry in Iran and Malaysia before leaving for the USA to get an MA in Fine Arts. His work addresses questions of memory, language and trauma, crossing various disciplinary boundaries. Oblivion Verses (2017) is his feature debut. For this film, he received financial support for script development from the Hubert Bals Fund in 2011. This film won the Orizzonti Award for Best Screenplay, the FIPRESCI Award for Best Debut Film and the Interfilm Award for Promoting Interreligious Dialogue in Venice.
