Biographie (1)
Born in Tripoli in 1927, he studied cinema at UCLA and returned to his country determined to make films in a place where the industry was non-existent. His film Ila Ayn (1957) became the first one to represent Lebanon in the official competition at Cannes. Highlights of his filmography also include The Little Stranger and Al Matloub Rajol Wahed.
