Susanne Regina Meures was born in 1977 in Germany. She studied photography and art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London before studying film at Zurich University of the Arts. Her first long documentary film Raving Iran (2016) proved a hit at international festivals and cinemas. Her second film Saudi Runaway (2020) world premiered at Sundance Film Festival and was, among others, nominated for the European Film Award. Girl Gang, her third documentary film, world premiered at CPH:DOX.
