Souvent associé à des personnages de durs issus d'un milieu modeste, Ray Winstone s'est vraiment imposé sur la scène internationale en campant un père de famille violent et alcoolique dans NE PAS AVALER (1997) de Gary Oldman. Né en 1957, Winstone est d'abord boxeur amateur, remportant même 80 médailles et trophées au cours de sa "carrière" sportive.
