Biographie
The Spanish director and screenwriter Mikel Gurrea was born in 1985 in San Sebastián. He first studied at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, before being awarded a scholarship from the London Film School. His short films, including Foxes (2015) and Heltzear (2021), have won numerous awards and screened at the festivals in Venice, San Sebastián and Montreal. Gurrea has also written pieces for the stage that have premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and the Teatro Fernán Gómez in Madrid. His feature film debut Suro had its premiere at San Sebastián.
