Biographie
Comedy veteran who has worked with Judd Apatow for multiple decades. Although Trainwreck is the first picture Kerr has edited with Apatow in the director's chair, it is the sixth feature film he's edited that Apatow has produced. Their association began on Apatow's first writing job, an HBO comedy special that starred Tom Arnold and Roseanne Barr, and continued for many projects, including the television series Undeclared and the motion-picture comedy smash-hit Superbad.
Kerr edited the mega-hit Bridesmaids, producer Apatow and director Paul Feig's film that broke box-office records, was nominated for two Academy Awards®, was critically loved and became a cultural touchstone. The film earned Kerr a nomination for the American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for Best Edited Feature Film (Comedy or Musical).
Kerr has also edited three pictures for writer/director Nicholas Stoller: The Five-Year Engagement, Get Him to the Greek and Stoller's directorial debut, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Kerr also edited the films Along Came Polly and I Love You, Man, both for writer/director John Hamburg. Among Kerr's other film editing credits are four films for director Peter Segal, including the comedy classic Tommy Boy, which starred David Spade and the late Chris Farley.
