YOUN Yuh-jung fait ses débuts en 1971 dans le film WOMAN ON FIRE de KIM Ki-young. Son interprétation remarquée dans CHUNGNYEO ou MOTHER lui vaut une pluie de récompenses. Elle se consacre à la fois au cinéma et à la télévision, et décroche des prix d'interprétation aux Korea Film Awards ainsi qu'aux Blue Dragon Awards.
