Joanna Arnow

Biographie

A filmmaker, actor and writer. In 2013 she directed I Hate Myself and in 2015 she wrote and directed Bad at Dancing, a short that was awarded the Berlinale’s Silver Bear Jury Prize. Later she directed the short Laying Out (2019), that was premiered at New York Film Festival. Her films have screened at other festivals including Rotterdam, Hong Kong and Guanajuato. Joanna has participated in a number of workshops and development programs including Berlinale Talents, Berlinale Script Station, Gotham Week, When East Meets West, New York Film Festival Artist Academy and Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective. In addition to making films, Joanna works as an actor and writer, and also writes fiction and draws comics. The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed (2023) is her first narrative feature film, and was premiered in the Quinzaine des Cinéastes at the Cannes Film Festival.
