Biographie

Duccio Chiarini was born in Florence in 1977. A London Film School graduate, he wrote and directed several short films before presenting his documentary Hit the Road, Nonna at the Venice Film Festival in 2011 in Venice Days, subsequently selected and awarded at many festival. In 2014 he presented his first feature film Short Skin, again at the Venice Film Festival, in the Biennale College Cinema section, winning a special mention. The film was then selected at the Berlin Festival in 2015 in the Generation section and by several festivals including Rio de Janeiro, Seattle, Sofia and Vancouver. L’ospite is his second film, was developed at the writing labs of the Cannes Cinéfondation Résidence, the Locarno Festival Alliance for Development and TorinoFilmLab, where it won the Production Award.
