Biographie

Martin Tichovský was born in Prague in 1983. There were no filmmakers in his family, he found his own way to film through photography. He started studying cinematography at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with experiences from previous work and studies. His authorial works use the methods of experimental and avant-garde cinematography, Tichovský excessively studies the work of B. Conner and K. Kren. He explores all the fields of cinematography, from assistant positions to DoP and is a long-time collaborator of Vladimír Smutný. He competed in the Short Films Competition of Ostrava Kamera Oko 2011 with the film by Jan Březina "Thirteenth Week" ("Třináctý týden").< One look into a café – man and a woman. Bar, mirror, cigarettes and night is slowly taking over the streets.
