Eva Aridjis

Biographie

Grew up in Mexico City and obtained an MFA in cinema from New York University (NYU), where she directed various short films that were shown in festivals around the world (Sundance, Edinburgh, Sao Paolo). In 2001/2002 she made her first feature documentary Niños de la Calle, which won the award for Best Documentary at the Morelia International Film Festival in 2003. In 2006, she premiered her feature film debut The Favor in festivals and cinemas in the United States and Mexico. Her second feature documentary La Santa Muerte (2007) premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was screened in several festivals. The film won the Best Documentary Award at the Latin-American Film Festival in Trieste, Italy. The Blue Eyes is her fourth feature-length film.
