Daniela Rusnoková was born in Bratislava (Slovakia) in 1980, she graduated in Documentary Films at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts of Bratislava.
In 1999 she won a Special Award for a work on Rom Gypsies in Slovakia. She is also a professional photographer with a specialization in ethnological works. Her photographs from Gypsy villages are published in the book "Phurikane giľa" written by ethnologist and musicologist Jana Belišová. Her film about Slavakian Gypsies - O Sone a jej rodine (Sona and her family) - was awarded Special mention at Human Rights Film Festival Jeden Svět/ One World 2007 and recieved European Media Award Young Civis 2007.
