Biographie

Pavel Vesnakov was born in Sofia in 1987. He is known for his realistic and provocative films, examining the collapsing society of modern day Bulgaria. Pavel is the author of a short films trilogy Inches of Suburbia: Trains (2011), The Paraffin Prince (2012) and Pride (2013), which screened at many international film festivals, such as Locarno, Sarajevo, Trieste, Tampere, Sofia, Leeds, Cork, Helsinki, Edinburgh, etc. The last part of the trilogy, "Pride", won more than 20 awards, among others the Grand Prix in the International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand and Bulgarian Film Award, and was nominated for the Best Short Film at European Academy Awards 2014.
