Making Irena Adler a dominatrix must have taken the same courage as bringing Sherlock Holmes into the twenty-first century. But all praise - once again it worked and an impressive show of sparkling intrigue was created. The story of this episode is also beautifully complex and intertwined (I'm really looking forward to watching it a second time) and there's a lot more humor compared to the finale of the first series. When everything fell into place in the end, it was pure joy.

Moriarty's actions will surely remind many of the Joker's escapades from The Dark Knight - a wonderfully intelligent lunatic, this "professor". Holmes and Watson play for time and lives and their brains practically don't breathe for the whole 90 minutes (as well as the audience), a really successful finale puts the crown on everything.

I didn't really like The Blind Banker until the second time, when I became more familiar with it and, in addition to trying to understand the plot, I was able to focus on the relationship between Holmes and Watson, which shifted again. It's especially nice to see how Holmes gets on Watson's nerves, but also constantly impresses him.

I unequivocally join the avalanche of five-star reviews that has swept through here. Bringing Holmes and Watson to the present day may have been a risk, but it paid off. The characters' vocabulary has changed a bit, and as for Holmes, the police refer to him as a deviant of the first category instead of as a weirdo... But they're still those old acquaintances. The story is suspenseful from start to finish, full of incredibly dry lines and great dialogue, and apart from the final nerve-wracking confrontation, the taxi chase absolutely blew my mind.

František Smolík can act as well as he likes - and of course he does, there is no doubt about that, but all the attention is still drawn to Burian's freeloader, and deservedly so. He captures the character perfectly and the audience must wonder how the uncle, who is constantly insulting everyone around him except those from whom he gets something, gets on their nerves more and more.

The Banjo band of Ivan Mládek in its best form. The program follows the attempt of the magical Ladislav Gerendáš to cross the Svratka River with his dry foot on the water surface, accompanied of course by classic songs sung not only by Ivan Mládek, but also by guitarist Petr Kaňkovský (where did he go?), Ivo Pešák is full of energy (he completes the proverbial dance to Jožin with a kicked off shoe) and everything is connected by the inserts of a TV presenter (Mládek with a terrible wig), and real sports reporter Jaroslav Suchánek watching the action right on the river bank. "The show is entertainingly sporty. It is also cheerful. Depends for whom."

That the story was such blatant rubbish didn't bother me. Much worse, the script turned it into silly rubbish. The characters don't behave very logically and although the main mystery is somehow solved at the end, there remain a number of other question marks that are of no interest to anyone except the viewer who comes up short. In any better detective story, for example, it would get to the bottom of what happened at the castle twenty years ago. Not here. As for the cast, I was downright disappointed by the screaming Bedřich Vrbský in the role of the police commissioner - I don't understand who on earth allowed Jaroslav Marvan to only play his nameless understudy.

A very brisk and funny slapstick, which already has sound, and uses all the possibilities it has to offer - from the abundance of verbal humor to effects like horse neighing or boxing to the rhythm of the music. I had a lot of fun and Harold Lloyd didn't disappoint me. What disappointed me, however, was the truly ugly picture and sound on the DVD from KaB Music.

It's like Shaun of the Dead, but a little less imaginative and with American pitchforks instead of English layabouts. In short, a very good spectacle that shows its love of horror films in which blood and other (not always human) fluids spurt in all directions from start to finish. James Gunn balanced the humor and suspense perfectly, and I loved how the special effects combined computer animation and classic masks and puppets.

The true forefather of adventure films. Without Douglas Fairbanks, however, it wouldn't have been nearly as good. He plays both faces of the main character so well.
