Fate/stay night (2006) (série)

anglais I debated for a long time between 3 and 4 stars, but in the end I give it 4. Because... because... I don't know. I'm kind of thinking that 3 is not enough and 4 is a lot, but since I've discovered Archer's identity, I feel instantly happier and that feeling results in a better rating... Anyway... :-) It was okay, I just didn't enjoy the 1st opening sequence, it was – in my opinion – a bit too tired for such an anime...

Faussaire (2006)

anglais So I'm wondering, given the addendum, why doesn't he just release it in Europe if they won't release it in the US? ;-) But whatever.... It was a cool movie, I was doing my history homework while watching it and managed both with ease, so I can't say if it's boring, as I wasn't bored for a moment /viz. D. XoD/. But I quite enjoyed the ending, when there was no homework left, and I liked how Irving so empathized with Hughes. It was really good, at least I don't have to complain about the "realistically conceived fall into the pool" as I had planned before it was explained to me... :-) Anyway, I'm sure you won't regret watching the film. Maybe you'll learn to make up bulletproof stories.

Figure libre (2005) (téléfilm)

anglais Katelin is perfect – hockey, figure skating, family, friends, boyfriend; just a fairy tale. The funniest part of the whole movie was the scene where the poor little robot didn't survive. Otherwise, an American romantic comedy with dreams that shine so brightly you could go blind. The girl is a pro that the practices didn’t wear her down until she died of overwork. But fine, a better 2 stars. You can definitely let it run for a while. Like when you're waiting for someone to put up the tree you're supposed to decorate later... ^^

Final cut (2018) (série)

anglais A great cast, but it gets sort of bogged down in rather uninteresting ballast about revenge and how journalism should be done properly and how people should behave. A classic revenge story where nobody saves the day. I feel like Kamenashi hasn't really been able to find a decent role in the last few years that would allow him to shine on screen. He does some great jumping and screaming and fighting for justice, and of course he's good at it, but it's terribly boring to watch. I guess it's partly because I've never taken to the writer and her work.

Final fantasy VII : Advent Children (2005)

anglais Even though I never played the game, I enjoyed it. I saw Last Order, and after that I had a little chat with a friend who played it, so I knew what it was about. Beautiful graphics. I haven't seen better combat in a long time. And I can see why so many people (read: girls) like Cloud (not that I've started eating him up either, sticking him on my wall and pairing him with every other male character. No, never. But when you think about it, he's such a "nice", blonde Sasuke^^). It was really good, I would fight again. 3 APR 2010 EDIT..: So I saw the full version on Blue-rip – please only watch it on that and at that quality :-))))

Find Me in Your Memory (2020) (série)

anglais The series does have dramatic scenes, but it's not a tear-your-hair-out-and-bite-your-nails kind of show. It's actually quite believable, even though the main character has a disorder where he can't forget anything, it's never too far-fetched. The series mainly touches on the subject of stalking, guilt, and the privacy (or lack thereof) of famous people, which might be interesting for someone doing some social studies, but for me as a viewer... I don't know. It took me an awfully long time to finish the series, I even forgot I had started watching it, and yet it's nothing dreadful. It's just so bland. The main character isn't over the top, her sister is awesome, the main character acts logically (when the police need to be called, he calls them; he thinks about things a lot, etc.), and his character is a really good actor, the story isn't bad. It's just totally devoid of chemistry. It struck me as terribly disjointed, unengaging, uninteresting. I'll soon forget the series, I can't even remember now if and how it was voiced... and if I do remember the show, it's probably because of the tic in the main character's eye...

Flashdance (1983)

anglais So I finally got to see the whole classic and not just the most famous scenes. The film moved along beautifully, which I thought was the best thing about it. The lead actress is very pretty, so I enjoyed watching her. The best scene was the one in the church at confession anyway, the one the communists cut at the time. And finally, I noticed with the last rehearsal scene, how all the people who danced it blended in together – changing hair, muscles, even skin color slightly. It's interesting that the creators came up with something that one person couldn't dance properly. A naive story spiced up with a bit of hip-steria.

Flying Witch (2016) (série)

anglais A very pleasant diversion. It may star a witch, but nothing really happens in the series; we watch her gardening, getting lost in her travels, and eating all sorts of goodies. A slice of life, just spiced up with some magic here and there. But I'd say it's aimed more at men than women; at the very least, I simply didn't expect so many shots of breasts... Somewhere with a witch on a broom. A strong 3 stars.

Footloose (2011)

anglais Get ready for some serious dancing!? Oh come on, where? To be honest, the choreography in this movie didn't grab me by the heartstrings, or by anything else, let alone the music that accompanied it all. I really like dancing, but this didn't really grab me. Neither did the story. The kid had a pretty good character, but that’s hardly enough to carry an entire movie like this. Nor is the friend who doesn’t dance. I don't even know who I could recommend this movie to...

Fractale (2011) (série)

anglais The beginning looked promising. A new world. Cute artwork. A main character who is ordinary for the time being, but not especially annoying. And then the others showed up. These, unfortunately, were obvious archetypes at first glance. But it didn't matter; the artwork was still nice, there was still something to look at. And then suddenly there wasn’t. Suddenly the art lost its charm and just wasn't that interesting. The main character was transformed into yet another archetype, and started being annoying with some of the decisions he made. As for Phryne, her decisions were annoying from the start and always the same, over and over again. Maybe the cheery and carefree Nessa could have saved it for a while with her presence. But unfortunately, she didn’t. The other characters were just added baggage who somehow here and there took the main characters somewhere, kidnapped them, slapped them around, or chatted them up. The only thing that didn’t let me down about this series was the ending. I don't know, I guess I started to like the Japanese pronunciation of English. You can hear a different perspective on it by Subjectiv, for example. A weak 3 stars.
