The Canadian movie Welcome to the Circle is more philosophical science-fiction than a horror movie because it contains very little in the way of horror. While the movie seems to be more about the characters dying, the strange narrative does leave you uncomfortable and unsettled. Although the movie leaves a lasting impression, you cannot take that away from it, although it is debatable whether you can enjoy watching it.

The British movie The Owners is a great play in a small space where the viewer cannot be sure of anything, and anything could happen. I, for one, was expecting a monster to appear towards the end as the gates of hell might well have opened, and for a relatively small release, it has some great performances. That means this movie manages to be both extremely poignant and entertaining all the way through.

With The Haunting of Margam Castle, Andrew Jones proves that how many movies he can make is more important than how good they are. Unfortunately, he has successfully gotten them released and distributed, albeit to a small cult audience. However, if you want to see The Haunting of Margam Castle, it is probably only because you are not fussy and would watch any old ghost story.

The American movie Fear PHarm tries to entertain people by throwing together things that usually make a winning combination. It is lightweight but gory and there is a dash of nudity thrown in for good measure. However, it is a real shame that the action scenes are not more fleshed out. In addition, the special effects could have been executed better. I think that perhaps then, it would have at least made the movie an average horror flick, but as it stands, it is rather below average.

The biggest weakness of the fifteenth season of Supernatural is definitely the last episode, which lets everything that went before down. It could have worked if it had been more emotional, more moving, but as it stands, it is almost devoid of feeling, so its potential remains untapped. The lack of emotion means that all the fans got was something they would most likely like to forget. It would have been best for all involved if the people behind it had never made it.

The The Walking Dead television series set off down a certain path and has not deviated much, occasionally completely resigning itself to practical effects which I think were better and more epic in the past, which is a shame because I think that was its saving grace. The show depends on the audience connecting with the characters, and if that does not do anything for you, you are probably not watching the show anyway. I think it has lost steam, so I have no great expectations for season eleven.

The American-Canadian television series Ghost Wars did not get a follow-up season, which is hardly surprising because the second half of the season is already heading downhill. While it was initially fairly well-paced, in the end, the screenwriters tried to cram too much into the story. There was way too much exposition, there is too much going on, and it is a real shame because the characters are not bad at all.

The Spanish movie Don't Listen occasionally lifts a little too much from American movies of a similar ilk, perhaps because it was trying too hard to be an American-like horror movie. However, it does not matter that much because it has a strong narrative that does not rely on simply scaring the viewer but also attempts to move them emotionally. I thought the mix works quite well in this Spanish movie. However, do not worry, it will still terrify you.

I found the fourth season of the American television series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina very boring. It ran out of steam, so there was not much to get excited about. Even musically, the covers are not that great. Despite that, however, it was nice that they forced me to listen to the original tracks again. I guess it was not such an outright tragic ending to the show, although I think they should have killed it off earlier.

The British movie Apostle proves that the subject of fanatical religious cults is by no means exhausted. Movies like this still have a very strong potential, and you can definitely squeeze some great stuff from their potential. Apostle is a depressing, gritty, and sometimes even brutal movie that also tugs at your heartstrings and pulls it off quite well.
