There's Always Vanilla (1971)

anglais George A. Romero's follow-up to his legendary Night of the Living Dead. It's a human drama, it's a bit of comedy - it's not horror at all, don't expect that - but it's a demonstration that the creator had a good hand for the chosen form, as well as for the human destinies he delved into. Unfortunately, the film drags a bit and the characters, or rather their behavior, are not that interesting.

Schulmädchen-Report 8: Was Eltern nie erfahren dürfen (1974)

anglais I've already given up expecting anything more from this series, so I just enjoy how the young women are shown naked here, which must be satisfying enough. If nothing changes, the movies in this series can't rise above average because it's really essentially about nothing that could narratively stand out.

Tarzan's Greatest Adventure (1959)

anglais This isn't a bad Tarzan at all; in fact, one could say it's one of the best up to now. Gordon Scott shows that he was a very good choice for the role, even in this story, which doesn't confine us to just one location in the jungle. We're more on the move here, and the relationships between the characters are more interesting. I guess it needed that character revival.

We're Not Dressing (1934)

anglais Although it initially seems like a film that will be quite heartwarming, it turns out to be, at times, a very good conversational comedy. It's through these dialogues that some great jokes are sometimes said, which can knock you out. I've laughed out loud a few times, which pleased me, and I quite enjoyed the movie.

Waterworld (1995)

anglais It's not such a bad movie, but it's hard to believe it cost $175 million. It's just not evident in the film, especially when it comes to the finale, where the special effects scenes are dreadful. Even though the film didn't gather as many fans, it's certainly not a downright bad film, and Kevin Costner's character is excellent.

Bloody Bloody Bible Camp (2011)

anglais Bloody Bloody Bible Camp is aimed at a limited audience who can appreciate the humor presented here. Personally, I must say that this isn't the type of humor I particularly enjoy, and there's hardly anything here that I find laugh-worthy. It doesn't work as a slasher, but rather as a very bad trash comedy with not a single interesting character.

Tarzan's Fight for Life (1958)

anglais It's not a stellar film, but I still felt that within the entire Tarzan series, Tarzan's Fight for Life is at least slightly above average. Here Tarzan is not only fighting evil people, although he is fighting them too, but he is also fighting a disease to save his beloved Jane. Sure, you know how it's going to end, but it's still somewhat refreshing.

Schulmädchen-Report 7: Doch das Herz muß dabei sein (1974)

anglais So, we're back to falling into the below-average range for the series, which unfortunately has been typical for it from the start, essentially. At the beginning, it might have been interesting that they were students, but now it's just become a standard, which is the only thing that might compel you to watch this. Comedy and drama alternate here without rhyme or reason, and there aren't many ideas present.

Two Lovers and a Bear (2016)

anglais They are two and love each other. Their life is a bit different because they live in an area where there is always snow. Moreover, their relationship is not very simple. They understand each other, but it's like something is pulling them apart. And then there's the other thing - he talks to bears. A strange film that is magical because of its strangeness, but also because of the strong emotions at the end.

Toni Erdmann (2016)

anglais An acclaimed film that had me wondering what could be so interesting about it. The nearly three-hour runtime scared me off a bit, but this is a movie that simply must be seen. In terms of plot, it's not fundamentally original - a father trying to reunite with his estranged daughter. But the way it's approached, how it's filmed, how the creators aren't afraid, that's something that will grab you.
