The Colors of Evil (2012)

anglais Despite the interesting idea, The Colours of Evil failed to wring enough humour out of the story, which is a shame. It could have been a hilarious hybrid of The Addams Family and Hello Kitty, but it's bland and unfunny.

Slimtime (2010)

anglais Slimtime's message is obvious, but it is delivered in such a futile way that the enlightening point is completely lost. Moreover, from an animation point of view, it is not a nice piece that could fool people at least visually.

One-Minute Time Machine (2014)

anglais It can be incredibly difficult to impress someone you like at first sight, so if you happen to have a time machine at your disposal, you can hone that first impression to perfection. But as it happens in science, it will probably not be without side effects. An imaginative, funny and briskly filmed one-man show about the pitfalls of interpersonal attraction and time travel.

Dustin (2015)

anglais Dustin has somewhat simpler animation and doesn't have much to surprise, but it offers a nice and informative story about a very unusual and unexpected friendship.

affiche

Shine (2016)

anglais Shine is visually a nicely made short, which could also be considered as a kind of fantasy scene from everyday life in "nature". The story is simple, but you still learn a lesson.

La Vie en lumière (2020)

anglais Lamp Life links the second and fourth Toy Story in a sweet and humorous way through the story of the Shepherdess, her sheep and the lamp to which they used to belong. The life of one toy can be as amazing and colorful as that of a human. Compared to the feature films, this shorts may not be as deep, but as a funny one-liner it works well.

Citipati (2015)

anglais From a visual point of view, Citipati impresses with its decent animation, accompanied by a beautiful musical score. We follow the story of an oviraptor who finds himself in the face of devastating destruction, but it is not portrayed only in a negative way. A chalky ballad of life and death.

Late Phases (2014)

anglais I had higher hopes for Late Phases when I read the blurb about a blind veteran who decides to take on werewolves, but the film was a bit disappointing. I found it unnecessarily talky and, except for the first attack and the ending, quite stripped of action. I liked that the film doesn’t rely on CGI effects for the visuals of the werewolves, but used costumes and makeup, so the monsters looked quite realistic, albeit clumsy. I had quite a problem sympathizing with the main character Ambrose, though, I mostly didn't care about his fate. If you leave out the horror aspect, it’s a pretty shallow family drama.

Those People (2015)

anglais "Real men say goodbye." Charlie and Sebastian have a relationship that is genuine and mature, but also unhealthily toxic, it destroys them both and keeps them together at the same time. Those People is a film about friendship, the search for love and relationships in general that has both strong and weak moments. From an acting standpoint, it's fairly good, though at times some of the characters were a little too theatrical and exaggerated. The scene between Sebastian and his father was probably the strongest for me. All in all, better three stars!
