Almost Home (2014)

anglais A nice and funny animated short that doesn’t stand out in any way. I'm quite curious to see what the feature film will be like.

Lourdes (2009)

anglais After the screening of Lourdes I found myself in a lighter version of depression, which could be considered an achievement given the genre of this film, but after a short time the heavy feeling vanished like steam over a pot. It was the depressing feel of the film, which was probably mostly due to the cast and the setting in a spa, that somehow didn't sit well with me. Overall, however, it gave me a kind of bland impression, which might seem to contradict what I mentioned above. In short, a film I have no need to return to, but it's good for one viewing.

C´est la fin (2013)

anglais This is the End is a comedy that is pulled from mediocrity by the actors playing themselves, a large number of parody and WTF scenes, but it is also marred by a number of silly and cheesy sequences that probably couldn't be avoided in a film like this. The best moments were a pretty funny parody of The Exorcist and a heavenly cameo by an unnamed band. In short, a film that satisfies as an average one-off and there is not the slightest need for anyone to ever see it again.

Le Labyrinthe (2014)

anglais The Maze Runner works in a similar way to The Hunger Games: the story is set in an unspecified future, and the protagonists have to deal with a reality that operates according to the rules of someone from outside, or someone from above. The storyline builds up nicely to the very finale, which reveals the imaginative point of everything that's been going on throughout the film, and also sets the stage for the sequel. The cast was mostly good, and there were few quality scares, which is strange considering the setting in the middle of a labyrinth, but this wasn't a horror film after all. In short, a film that is another in a long line of various sci-fi products, but certainly doesn't disgrace itself and stays above average.

Sin City : J'ai tué pour elle (2014)

anglais The second to Sin City is again full of very suggestive and imaginative visuals, but story-wise it is noticeably weaker than its predecessor, which had the primacy of the first (and therefore novel) film. From the cast, the one who impressed me was Eva Green, who enjoyed her role properly. In short, a sequel that didn't need to be made at all, but then again I would be lying if I said that the screening was a waste of time.

Les Gardiens de la Galaxie (2014)

anglais From Guardians of the Galaxy, I expected a similarly huge action and visual effects packed, properly humorous blockbuster as The Avengers. And I have to say that I didn't leave the cinema disappointed at all, but rather delighted. However, I must say that despite the great similarities, these two Marvel popcorn movies are different. Guardians relies a lot on a slightly spicier vocabulary and more macho-scenes. The film doesn’t lack action, there was plenty of it, and all the scenes and battles were clear. I really liked the choice of the soundtrack, which was full of oldies. Technically, it was a clean job. All in all, an amazing show that is a must see at the cinema.
