A stunning and dramatic portrait of Maria Elena Moyano, the charismatic and controversial social activist and one of the most visible woman to confront the Shining Path, at the zenith of political turmoil that engulfed Peru in the 1980s. As the director of the Woman´s Federation of Villa El Salvador in Lima's desert outskirts, Moyano was marked for murder by the Shining Path for refusing to surrender the women´s rights movement to its control.
