anglais For me, this is a fairytale that I always like to watch at Christmas, but it is also a movie that you can enjoy watching at any other time. It is beautifully naive, but unlike "The Princess with the Golden Star," here both characters have the time to get to know each other and truly fall in love. The characters are well-written and well-acted, and the fact that there is some dubbing is simply because part of the cast consists of German actors and also because some actors have a strong accent. When you watch this fairytale, you can believe, even if just for a moment, that everything is beautiful. ()

anglais Václav Vorlíček resurrected one of the most famous fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm on the screen, giving birth to one of the greatest and brightest gems of its genre in the field of Czechoslovak cinema (although the Germans still think it is purely their film). Three Wishes for Cinderella has everything a proper fairy tale should have, and it manages to pull off all the genre aspects to the max. Alongside believably written characters, you can enjoy the gorgeous sets and costumes, and it doesn’t matter that you already know how it all turns out, in this case, the happy ending doesn't get old even on repeat viewings. anglais I understand the constant rehashing of Cinderella for the Christmas holidays, but after six or seven years of actually watching it every year, its charm is wearing a bit thin. This is not to say that I don't enjoy the story and that I don't like Libuška anymore. On the contrary, I admit that Three Nuts for Cinderella is a true gem of the Czech fairytale genre, with a great cast and, as always, beautiful music by Karel Svoboda. But seven times is enough! 85% ()

anglais No matter how I take it, this is hands-down the best fairytale ever made in our country. It’s overflowing with fairytale atmosphere, with the white snowy plains and the snow-covered spruces favouring the camera, and the cast is flawless, including the German actors. The boyishly mischievous and at the same time femininely charming Libuše is delightful and the then still slender Pavel Trávníček is a proper prince. And, wonder of wonders, Svoboda's music and Karel Gott don't spoil it and the theme song is perhaps the only one I am willing to accept from him. Since then, Vorlíček has not come close to this masterpiece in his other works. ()
