During his neurological treatment, Szabados Gábor, journalist, recalls his recent past. Happy moments of his marriage flash upon him, then he remembers the conflict that made his wife leave him and the women on whose side he is trying to forget. He travels to the country college to bring his family home, but returns with his son only. His wife, leader of the choir and in love with the conductor, stays. Szabados comes into a tough conflict of principles with the editor-in-chief. Among the everyday tasks and compromises he feels he is a conformist and devastates himself. He takes pills for his depression and walks with a stagger in the traffic. When his wife and child visit him in the hospital, a faint hope appears before his eyes. (texte officiel du distributeur)
