‘A girl’, Guido answers to the standard question ‘What do you want to be later?’. The eleven-year-old Guido was born as a boy, but feels like a girl. Four out of a thousand boys and girls would like to be of the opposite sex. As long as Guido can remember, he has played with girl’s toys and wanted to wear dresses. He does so only in the weekend, because his mother is afraid he will be harassed if he goes to school in a skirt. Ingeborg Jansen follows Guido, who calls himself Nina now, when for the first time he goes to a friend’s birthday party in girl’s clothes. Nobody really thinks he looks stupid. One of the girls says that she gets confused sometimes and suddenly calls Nina Guido, but that it is a question of getting used to it. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
