Oskar and Jack

Oskar and Jack are identical twins who were born in 1933 in Trinidad. When they were a few months old, their parents split up. Oskar was taken to Sudetenland with their German mother, where he was raised according to catholic and Nazi principles. Jack stayed in the Caribbean region with their Jewish father and received an orthodox education. After World War II he went to Israel, where he dedicated himself to the new state. During his honeymoon in 1954 he also went to Germany, but the meeting between the twin brothers ended in disappointment. Oskar and Jack realised that they were at the two sides of the ideological medal. Only in 1979, as part of a large-scale study of twins, they met again. It was striking that both men, who ideologically and geographically had been raised separately, still had so many similarities. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
