Cristina et Tudor Ionescu forment une famille heureuse avec leurs deux enfants, Maria (5 ans et demi) et Ilie (sept ans). Ils ont la trentaine, vivent dans une ville roumaine, dans un joli appartement. Il travaille dans une entreprise de téléphonie, elle est comptable. Un dimanche matin, alors que Tudor se trouve avec les enfants au parc, Maria disparaît. (New Story)

A very difficult movie, which definitely isn’t for everyone. Quite the opposite. A blockbuster viewer, for example, would probably die of boredom because the endless shots could be easily shortened by an hour and the film wouldn’t have to be 152 minutes long at all. But on the other hand, it is in the long shots where the power lies and it turns the movie into a unique experience, which isn’t worth 5 stars in my books, but on the other hand, I don’t claim there’s nothing special about it. The character of the dad is, in the case of this movie, Oscar-worthy. The performance he gave is unparalleled in the movie industry.
