28-year-old Lyudmila Krylova is used to fending for herself. She is the only help and support to her mother, who is bringing up her two young teenage sisters alone. Now Lyudmila, Mila, as everyone calls her, lives in a big city. Trained as a chemist, she now works in a laboratory where she is involved in developing a new drug. Mila had a fiance - once, but he ran away, leaving her in the lurch on their wedding day. Try as she might, Mila could never understand his reasons for deserting her, but it turns out that the young man had become tired of her being such a control freak. Her colleagues also complain of her difficult temper. Because of her circumstances, Mila has become accustomed to controlling everything, including herself and other people. One day, however, she has an encounter that re-awakens her self-awareness and restores feelings that were previously dormant. She is to find an alternative way forward in her life. At the 'City Day' celebrations, Mila has a mask painted on her face. Later, in the crowd, she meets a stranger with the same mask painted on his face. Soon they are caught up in the festive atmosphere and find themselves dancing together, as if drawn into some kind of fantastic whirlwind. Suddenly forgetting everything, their masks release them of their inhibitions as they start to enjoy some frivolities they have never indulged in before. But alas, the same festive vortex separates the two only to bring them together later under entirely new circumstances. But, this time will they recognize each other? (Star Media)
