Director Karel Kachyňa’s depiction of Advent in a small-town hospital is drawn from Jan Procházka’s story ‘Lying and Stealing’. The lives of the employees and patients intertwine in a spirit of conciliation thanks to a traditional play about the arrival of St. Nicholas with his retinue. (texte officiel du distributeur)
