JUNO AND THE PAYCOCK is based on Sean O'Casey's smash hit stage play about a hard luck Irish family with an insipidly optimistic father who holds out hope even as the family tragically disintegrates. The film was Hitchcock's second sound film after MURDER! A blend of humor and tragedy, the poignant story follows a lower-class family during the Dublin uprising.
