May on the Moon

The iconic shots of the astronauts raising the American flag on the Moon are widespread throughout the media and have remained in the memory of humanity. The astronauts are captured from a low angle in order to make them look heroic. There are hundreds of videos on the NASA servers, however, which depict the more mundane exploratory activities of the pioneers. Most of the recordings are of extremely poor quality, but they contain the audio tracks of radio communication showing a variety of comical moments arising from the encounter with another world. The astronauts here often seem more like tourists or comedians. The NASA recordings are combined with cardboard animation imitating the surface of the Moon. Tischbein created the film as a reference to the prevailing doubts concerning the authenticity of the Moon landing footage. (Academia Film Olomouc)
