This film features children living in three neighbouring houses during the 20s, before the age of universal radio and TV, when we all spent time together, played and had adventures. Children hid in haystacks and were frightened of tramps; they looked for treasure out on the islands and annoyed the shoemaker, a bad-tempered fellow with a dog which was supposed to like children for its lunch, but which turned out to be the best of playmates. The Six Bullerby Children is a film about children for children and for those of us who remember what it was like to be a child long ago, when we all had plenty of time for each other.
