All About the Feathers

Chalo (Allan Cascante) is a guard who wants to break through in cockfights and so he buys a rooster, Rocky. Chalo gradually becomes closer to Rocky, takes him everywhere, takes their pictures together and even lets him sleep in his bed. The friendship that has developed between them is complicated and often misunderstood. Chalo, with the help of his human friends, must therefore fight for them to stay together. The absurd humor of the story is undermined by long shots which push the film to more serious levels. Director Neto Villalobos’ debut from Costa Rica is exceptional not only thanks to the unusual story, but also for the shot composition and a minimalist approach. (Febiofest)
