anglais So what’s this one all about? It’s a probe into the life of the last of the palace rulers of Hyderabad. There’s a pretty strong left-social overlap here, i.e., the classic clash of old and new that awaited every country after a certain turn of history. The whole of the 20th century is lined with it. So the youth abounds - the alcohol, the easy women, the visits to the pawn shop. The mother suffers in silence and the father is so tied to the old ways that he doesn't even acknowledge the mortgage or the electricity bills. However, there is a solution - sell the palace and turn it into a hotel for a small million. Yet their pride is too strong, so this is not an option. And as fate would have it, there are two servants, one of whom has a daughter, who is too dark, missing an eye, and lame, apparently. But she is quite decent because she is a teacher and has some influence in the correction of the young boy. So what now? A wedding. But only after the fathers agree, and that must be preceded by battle and suffering. Eventually, we will reach the end, but the ending has such an artistic overlap that I will certainly not bother watching it again in the years to come. ()
